Metro Volunteer Lawyers (MVL) has provided outstanding free and low-cost civil legal services to those in need in the Denver Metro area since 1966. MVL’s mission is the bridge the gap in access to justice by coordinating pro bono legal services. Dedicated lawyers donate their time and knowledge within the Denver Metro Area to people who could not otherwise afford legal services for their civil legal issues. MVL serves people who are living at or below 200% of federal poverty guidelines. Douglas County’s 2017 demographic data indicates that 11,809 residents (3.5% of Douglas County’s 346,000 population) are living at or below federal poverty level and 31,244 residents (9.3%) are living at or below 200% of the federal poverty level.[1] [1] “Douglas County Profile for The At-Risk Population,” February 2019, Douglas County Department of Community Development,  https://www.douglas.co.us/documents/at-risk-profile.pdf Are You An Attorney Interested in Volunteering? You can help by taking a case or by volunteering at one of our monthly clinics. We provide experienced mentors to attorneys needing extra guidance with pro bono cases.
